Research focus

I am broadly interested in understanding metabolic dysfunction and its role in the development of chronic disease. My research focuses on how dietary patterns and nutrient signalling pathways influence metabolism, with the aim of uncovering mechanisms that can inform prevention and treatment strategies. Ultimately, I aim to bridge the gap between metabolic science and human health through diet-centred approaches.

Background and experience

My passion for the field began with a curiosity about the connection between food and health, which led me to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology at Northumbria University, followed by a Master's in Molecular Biomedicine at the University of Copenhagen. My research experience focuses on metabolic diseases and nutritional immunology, with a particular emphasis on host-microbe interactions in the gut. I have worked extensively with mouse models, primarily in the context of gut-related diseases, and am well-versed in a range of molecular biology techniques.
