Research focus
I will focus on the development of research setups that integrate in-vivo neuroscience tools with behavioural, metabolic, and neuroendocrine techniques to explore links between brain activity and metabolism in health and disease.
Background and experience
I was interested in science because I had great teachers and family that encouraged my curiosity and encouraged me to pursue my interests. I am forever grateful to them!
I did my bachelor’s in biochemical sciences at the National Taiwan University in Taiwan and my PhD in Neuroscience at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. Afterwards, I completed at Postdoc at the Kavli Institute for Systems Neuroscience (at NTNU) in Norway. As you can see, I have a soft spot for institutions with the letter’s ‘N’, ‘T’ and ‘U’.
Working at the IMS-MRL
My current focus is to become acquainted with the research project and tools of groups at the department of clinical biochemistry and identify ways in which in-vivo neuroscience tools can contribute to address specific scientific questions exploring the links between metabolism, endocrinology, behaviour and neuronal activity across different brain regions and at different developmental stages.
