Research focus

The overall aim of my research is to study cell communication and signalling in the context of metabolic diseases programmed by maternal obesity in Professor Susan Ozanne's group.

Background and experience

I completed both my MSc and PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, where I studied signalling mechanisms underlying skeletal muscle fibrosis in Dr. Enrique Brandan’s laboratory.

Working at the IMS-MRL

My current work is focused on the study of specific miRNAs biology and their participation in different metabolic diseases.
