Direct engagement with members of the public is important to us because we want our research:
- to be trusted and valued by all
- to be relevant, because we understand what is important to public and patient groups
- to inspire children and young people.
We also want to make sure our researchers are equipped for engagement – with training, examples and opportunities.
From students to Professors, many of our researchers are involved in public engagement. For us, the best type of engagement sparks feedback that helps us to keep our research relevant and reminds us why we do it.
