We have a local Committee of volunteer members who are happy to hear from members of staff with any related questions or issues. Members of the committee are not able to deal with all issues but are willing to listen and able to help you find appropriate support within the University or beyond.
Current members

Shrobona Bhattacharya is Level Coordinator and Radiation Protection Supervisor at the IMS-MRL. She is a local Councillor, pro-active event organiser, winner of community championship and spends all her time running activities to promote wellbeing for all ages and STEM outreach education through her charities. She loves promoting diversity, global celebrations and would love to hear your ideas for any social events.

Tamana Darwish is a Research Assistant and part-time PhD student. She is passionate about creating an inspiring, creative and enjoyable work environment where we remove barriers that obstruct a person from following their goals and reaching their fullest potential. Tamana is happy to hear from you if you have any concerns or suggestions.

Agnes Lukasik (she/her) has been at the IMS-MRL since 2004 as a Research Assistant in the TVP lab. As a Wellbeing Advocate, Mental Health First Aider, and a student of psychotherapy/ counselling Agnes is always happy to listen to you whatever problem you might face, or if you just need a friendly person to talk to.

Florian Merkle (he/him) is a PI at the IMS-MRL and committed to fostering an inclusive work environment that promotes personal development in his group and across the IMS. He is particularly interested in issues surrounding mental health and well-being.

Emily Staricoff (she/her) is a third year PhD student at the IMS-MRL. As a member of the IMS-MRL student committee, Emily is here to represent the views of the students and is passionate about championing various EDIW causes in the department. Emily would love to hear from you with any thoughts or suggestions.

Miguel Constancia (he/him) is a Principal Investigator at the IMS-MRL and a member of the Graduate Education Committee. Miguel is passionate about celebrating difference in the workplace, gender equality, ageism issues and collective responsibility (i.e. holding each other and leadership accountable for improving diversity and inclusion in the workplace).

Jack Kincaid (he/him) joined the IMS-MRL and the Coll/O’Rahilly/Yeo Group in June 2021 after moving from Saint Louis, Missouri (USA). Jack is passionate about promoting a strong sense of equality and community within the department, and is always reachable to assist with matters of inclusivity.

Claire Meek (she/her) is a Principal Investigator at the IMS-MRL, a Clinical School Gender Equality Champion and a diabetes in pregnancy consultant. Claire believes that everyone is important and should have equal opportunity to reach their potential. Claire is happy to have informal discussions about juggling family commitments and research, pregnancy/parental leave planning, and first fellowship applications.

Lucas Pantaleo (he/him) has been at the IMS since 2014 and is the chair of the Postdoc Committee. He is a fierce advocate for equality and equity as powerful, empowering tools for members of minorities and vulnerable communities. He is always open to discussing these subjects and would love to hear your thoughts.

Natalie Wallis (she/her) is a 3rd year PhD candidate and a student rep on the EDIW committee. Natalie is passionate about tackling discrimination and inequality both in and out of the workplace. She has been in the roles of Women’s officer and Welfare officer at Pembroke college and also plays an active role in widening participation for students from underrepresented backgrounds.
