Title: The new NHSE Genomic Medicine Service (GMS)

Kate will provide an introduction to the structure and function of the new NHSE Genomic Medicine Service (GMS). She will introduce the GMS National Test Directory and provide information on the specialist endocrine and metabolic genetic testing strategy and how clinicians can order tests. This presentation will include how changes can be made to the tests provided, how additional genes can be added to tests and how data and expertise can be shared to assist clinical reporting. In addition Kate will discuss opportunities for clinical research in gene discovery and functional characterisation of candidate genetic variants.
