Around 200 people work at the IMS-MRL at any one time and as with many research institutes, it’s a great place to meet talented people from all over the world!
Our people include permanent staff, researchers on short-term contracts, PhD students and short-term visitors. Some of our researchers are doctors and nurses combining research and clinical expertise while others have trained directly for a research career, so we undertake basic research and applied or translational research.
Research is typically managed in groups of people with similar research interests which are led by a senior researcher or ‘Principal Investigator’. Working alongside our research groups are vital technical and office staff helping to support the research and keep it running smoothly.
