The peptidomics and proteomics core offers mass spectrometric based support for researchers in the MRL-IMS, Cambridge University, wider academic institutes and industry partners. The laboratory uses a Thermo Q-Exactive Plus system with both nanoflow and normal flow rate LC separations for characterisation of peptides and proteins in biological matrices.
Bioinformatics analyses are performed using PEAKS, capable of performing normal proteomics experiments, and identifying endogenous peptides of up to 65 amino acids in length.
The facility is run by Dr Richard Kay (Gribble/Reimann group), who has over 15 years of experience in developing methods for quantifying peptides and proteins using LC-MS instrumentation. Prices for sample analysis are competitive and are available on request – email rgk27@medschl.cam.ac.uk
