Additional information
Scientific Programme

- Opening Keynote Lecture - Stephen O'Rahilly
- BSN Annual Award Lecture - Fahrettin Kelestimur
- 12 Symposia speakers covering topics including circadian rhythms, reward & learning, stress, food intake and reproduction.
See here for programme outline.
The BSN is keen to provide extensive opportunities to facilitate our 'early career' colleagues and so have included opportunities for short oral communications sessions, as well as prolonged poster sessions. New this year, a significant number of abstracts will be selected for 2 'data blitz' sessions where scientists will have 4 minutes to give the delegates a taste of their work. Consider it a teaser for the poster session! Additionally there will be the Michael Harbuz Prize for Young Investigators, which we encourage people to apply for.
NB: the BSN Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Monday 4th July at 5pm.
We hope that this meeting will provide a good opportunity to promote your research, encourage young researchers in the field and strengthen your collaborations. We are very much looking forward to seeing you here in July.
Social Programme
We invite you to the Welcome Reception on Sunday 3rd July afternoon after the opening keynote lecture and before the first 'data blitz' session. This will be followed by an informal buffet dinner in the dining hall. There are many pubs within walking distance if anyone fancies a drink after! On Monday we will convene the AGM which is an opportunity to discuss society issues. We will hold the Conference Gala Dinner on Monday 4th July evening from 7.30pm at Downing. This will be followed by live entertainment.
The above events are included within the registration fee. Please register here.

Michael Harbuz Prize for Young Investigators 2011
To honour the memory of Dr. Michael Harbuz, the BSN provides a platform for an outstanding member of the emerging generation of neuroendocrinologists at its annual meetings. The winner of this year's prize will deliver a 30 minute lecture, programmed within the Cambridge BSN meeting in July 2011 and we strongly encourage eligible members to apply. To be eligible you will have completed your PhD not more than 5 working years prior to submitting the application. The application should include an abstract, curriculum vitae and supporting statements from two senior colleagues, at least one of whom should be a member of the Society. The application must be submitted by the deadline for normal abstracts online (1st May, 2011) and the supporting documents sent by email to Katie Ketteridge-Lowe (klk30@medschl.cam.ac.uk) quoting your abstract submission reference number.
